Volunteers are an integral part of the Museum team. They work alongside our staff, but in different roles, and contribute to the development and day-to-day operations of the Museum.

Student collections-based research placement opportunity


Summer-Autumn 2022

We are looking for students for short-term (virtual) placements to contribute to ongoing research into the original architectural contexts of stained glass windows in the museum’s collection this summer/autumn.

These short placements provide an opportunity for undergraduate or postgraduate Arts and Humanities students to engage with collections-based research. Access to online databases, e.g. British Newspaper Archive useful but not essential.

Learning Volunteer


We are currently seeking volunteers interested in supporting our Learning programme. Learning Volunteers are an active part of our team, ensuring the smooth delivery of our varied workshops for children and young people.
