Welcome to our new Learning & Community Engagement Manager
(13 Jan. 2021)

We are delighted to welcome our new Learning & Community Engagement Manager, David Whitney to our team. David has been working professionally in the arts for the last ten years as a Theatre Director and practitioner, and as a project-manager in Creative Learning departments for the last six.
Before joining The Stained Glass Museum David worked at Hull Truck Theatre as a Creative Learning Officer. Within the Hull community he led Adult Inclusion groups, Senior Citizens groups, Youth Theatre sessions, holiday workshops and tailor-made projects for schools. He has also worked at Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds (TRBSE) as an Associate Artist and Director with a prime focus on young people and the community . After leaving TRBSE he then worked as a freelance Director in the North-West (the region he originates from) directing different projects including work with Sheffield Crucible and teaching BA and MA Acting at ALRANorth.
Young people and communities have been a big part of David's working life and he passionately believes that outreach and community work should be at the heart of any artistic organisation. David is very much looking forward to launching new and exciting projects for The Stained Glass Museum and providing the people of Cambridgeshire with an excellent learning offer.
David's role is partly funded by an ACE/Cultural Recovery Fund grant.
