CHRIST AND THE SAMARITAN WOMAN AT THE WELL & THE LAST SUPPER AT EMMAUS

Brief description: Stained glass light shows in two pictorial mandorlas Christ with the Samaritan woman at a well and Christ having supper with two disciples before his Ascension. Designed and made by William Warrington, in about 1850.

Stained glass light made up of two pictorial panels with a decorative top. Two mandorlas show biblical scenes. The top picture shows Jesus sitting by a well wearing a cream coloured tunic and red robe. He has a red halo. A woman stands on the right side of the scene, she is holding a jug to hold water. She wears a head scarf and brown/ yellow tunic. The lower scene shows Jesus in the centre, seated at a table. He is breaking bread while two nimbed figures are seated either side of him on the opposite side of the table.
