THE CRUCIFIXION

Brief description: Stained glass panel from centre of the light depicting Jesus carrying a cross and his crucifixion. Designed and made by William Warrington, in about 1850.

Stained glass panel. At the top medallion depicts Jesus carring a cross. He is wearing a red tunic and has a red and gold halo. He is being led by a Roman soldier. Simon of Cyrene is carrying the cross.The bottom medallion depicts the crucifixion. Jesus has a red and gold halo. Virgin Mary stands on the left and John stands on the right. The medallion is set againest a decorated background of geometric and foliage design.
