Evie Hone panel goes on display in Dublin
(11 Apr. 2025)

A stained glass panel by Irish artist Evie Hone depicting 'Christ meeting his mother' has been loaned to the National Gallery of Ireland for their major exhibition: ‘Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone. The Art of Friendship’.
The Stained Glass Museum is delighted to loan a piece by Evie Hone from our collection to this exhibition, which runs 11 April until 10 August 2025.

‘Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone. The Art of Friendship’ at the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin, brings together over 90 works by these ground-breaking pioneers of Irish art. This major new exhibition is only the second joint exhibition dedicated to Jellett and Hone, coming over 100 years after the first. The piece loaned by the museum for the exhibition, which depicts Christ meeting his mother, was made in around 1950 by Evie Hone at her studio in Marlay Park, Dublin, Ireland.
