Our Endowment

The Stained Glass Museum Collections Fund is a new fund established in 2024 to care for, maintain and develop the museum’s collections.

Every gift to the endowment makes a direct contribution to our specialist stained glass collections, helping to grow, care for and interpret these objects for audiences now and in the future.

The Collections Fund is the only fund allocated to the museum’s collection and is essential for its future development and preservation.

Our initial target is to reach £500,000 (in gifts and pledges) in the first 3-5 years, by 2029.*^

* Trustees are committed to growing the Collections Fund by allocating a percentage of internal contributions from any end-of-year surplus funds where they arise, legacies and bequests and endowments, where received.
^ In the event of reaching this milestone within the timeframe, Trustees reserve the right to use funds for other projects within the objectives of the charity.

With the support of our friends and benefactors, we aim to grow the endowment in line with our ambitions, helping to shape the future of this organisation and preserve its internationally-significant collections.

Our priorities:

● Growing the collection
Over the last four decades our collection has developed considerably, and we want to ensure its future growth in line with our ambitions to be the national centre for the learning, appreciation and enjoyment of stained glass.

● Caring for the collection
It is vital that we care for the works in our collections and pursue research to enable further understanding to preserve them for future generations.

● Learning for all
We are a place of learning, not only about objects and works of art, but also the human stories behind them. The Stained Glass Museum is committed to sharing knowledge with the widest possible audience. We are committed to sharing inspiring stories in glass, light and colour.

The Stained Glass Museum is delighted to recognise our donors in a variety of ways. All supporters will be listed on a donor board within the Museum.
