Museum celebrates its reopening
(4 Dec. 2024)

The Stained Glass Museum celebrates its reopening with a special event for Friends and supporters of the museum, and was honoured to have in attendance HM Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Mrs. Julie Spence OBE CStJ QPM, as well as the Mayor and Mayoress of Ely, alongside many Friends, volunteers and supporters of the museum.
In early December, as we begin a month of festivities and celebrations, The Stained Glass Museum was also celebrating a significant milestone in its history.

We were honoured to have in attendance HM Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Mrs. Julie Spence OBE CStJ QPM, as well as the Mayor and Mayoress of Ely, alongside many Friends, volunteers and supporters of the museum.

We were particularly delighted that several artists and conservators who have designed, made or helped conserve works on display in the gallery were also in attendance and could now see their work being enjoyed within the gallery.

The Lord Lieutenant, Mrs. Spence, addressed attendees, and in her speech praised the efforts of the museum’s team and highlighted the museum’s importance and significance as a cultural asset. Our thanks also to Ely's Mayor, Cllr Chris Phillips who addressed attendees at our evening event, and highlighted the unique beauty of our gallery and what has been created in the redisplay.
