Brief description: Black and white photograph of a single light window depicting Christ resurrected. Designed at the Goddard and Gibbs Studio, London
Here, the risen Christ stands above the heavens and earth. He is dressed in a robe and cloak with a patterned trim, and is nimbed with a cruciform halo. He raises his hands, one in a gesture of peace. His hands and feet bear the stigmata, the wounds of his crucifixion. Light beams down upon his head, and he stands on a globe of swirling cloud. Commissioned by Miss D M Hawkes and Rev Dickinson Goddard and Gibbs job number 21/80716, FAN 4333. Goddard & Gibbs, founded from a merger of Walter Gibbs & Sons and Goddard's Glass Works in 1938, were prominent makers of stained glass for the international market and also conserved and restored glass.
