Brief description: Black and white photograph of a window depicting trees in various states. Designed at the Goddard and Gibbs studio, London
This window is made up of three lancet (pointed) lights, and depicts three plants. The first is on fire, flames licking up to the top of the light. The second is bare and wintry, with other bare trees in the background. The third is a smaller plant, beautifully flowering. The identical compositions give a sense of a cycle of life and death. Goddard and Gibbs job number C1, C2, and C3, 71/737. Goddard & Gibbs, founded from a merger of Walter Gibbs & Sons and Goddard's Glass Works in 1938, were prominent makers of stained glass for the international market and also conserved and restored glass.
