Brief description: Black and white photograph of a window depicting a countryside scene. Designed at the Goddard and Gibbs studio, London
This window, made up of two lancet (pointed) lights, depicts a rural landscape. Trees, filled with various birds, give way to a field of wheat. A pheasant rustles about in the foreground. The beams of the midday sun dominate the centre of the scene, and would have given it a pleasant glow when light shone through the window. Goddard and Gibbs job number 21/2H178/G, 71/737. Goddard & Gibbs, founded from a merger of Walter Gibbs & Sons and Goddard's Glass Works in 1938, were prominent makers of stained glass for the international market and also conserved and restored glass.
