Brief description: Design for a stained glass window made up of one light depicting Christ healing the sick. Designed at the Goddard and Gibbs studio, London
Design for the Methodist Church in Thorpe Bay. Christ, dressed in a red robe and white cloak, with a cruciform halo, stands and stretches his hands out towards two people. One is a woman, dressed in white with a white headdress, supporting a half-naked man who raises his arms to Christ imploringly. The light of Christ's halo beams down towards his hands, symbolising a healing miracle. The scene takes place against a blue sky and is encircled by an ornate frame. Goddard & Gibbs, founded from a merger of Walter Gibbs & Sons and Goddard's Glass Works in 1938, were prominent makers of stained glass for the international market and also conserved and restored glass.
