Brief description: Design for a 5 light stained glass window depicting the Virgin Mary and child
Proposed design for a the east window of the Lady Chapel depicting scenes from the Annunciation in the two left lights, the Virgin Mary and child in the centre light and the nativity in the two right hand lights. Various saints and inscriptions in the tracery. Design stamped with the Salisbury Diocesan Advisory Committee approved stamp, 7 December 1934. On the reverse of the design, there is a note in Webb's hand reading '£350 excluding fixing'. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
