Brief description: Design for a 3 light stained glass window depicting the Crucifixion and scenes from the life of Christ
Proposed design for a 3 light window depicting the crucifixion. Angels are depicted in the left and right lights each holding a shield. In the centre light, a Risen Christ stands beside the cross. Across the bottom of each light, 11 soldiers are shown in khaki uniforms. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse are depicted in the apex of the lights. The window has a clear diamond quarry background with roses and thorned vines woven throughout. A scroll with space for an inscription is at the bottom. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
