Brief description: Two designs for 3 light windows depicting the Chichester worthies
Proposed design for two 3 light windows in the north aisle depicting the Chichester worthies. Window no. 4, the westernmost window, depicts Cannon Woodard in the left light, John Mason Neale in the centre light and Dean Chandler in the right light. Window no. 3 depicts Charles Marriott in the left light, Oliver Whitby the centre light and Bishop Lake in the right light. All windows have a clear rectangular quarry background. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
