Brief description: Design for a 5 light stained glass window depicting the nativity
Proposed design for the 5 light East window depicting the nativity with the Magi. Mary, Joseph and the Christ child are depicted in the centre light with angels above and below. The Magi are depicted in the two left and two right lights. The window has a clear diamond quarry background and the tracery includes angels and 4 heraldic shields. An inscription runs along the bottom of each of the 5 lights. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
