Brief description: Design for a 4 light stained glass window depicting the Benedicite and the seasons
Proposed design for the East window depicting the Benedicite. The furthest left light contains angels and spring and summer pastoral scenes. Also depicted is a mother and son and a girl on horseback. The centre left and right lights depict trumpeting angels and floral scrolls. The furthest right light depicts angels and autumn and winter pastoral scenes, including some picking fruit, children ice skating, a Christmas tree and an arctic sea with a whale. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
