Brief description: Design for a 5 light stained glass window depicting Christ with the cross
Proposed design for a 5 light window with angels and heraldry in the tracery. Christ is depicted holding the cross in the central light, with angels and scenes from the crusades above him with soldiers and civilians. St George in shown in the left hand lights with St Alban in the right hand lights. The panel is completed with further angels, banner inscriptions and civilians holding a smaller cross. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
