Brief description: Design for a 2 light stained glass window depicting an angel announcing Christ had risen to the Maries at the tomb
Proposed design for the west window depicting an angel in the right hand light announcing that Christ has risen to the Maries at the tomb, shown in the left hand light. Roundels throughout the lights show pastoral scenes featuring sheep, cows and deer as well as the nearby Brocket Hall as seen over the lake. A figure, kneels by the Hall. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
