Brief description: Design for a 5 light stained glass window depicting Christ in Glory
Proposed design for the East window depicting Christ in glory in the centre light, flanked by the Virgin Mary and St. John the Baptist in the lights to the left and right. The furthest lights show scenes from the life of the figure next to them. To the left of Mary is a depiction of the Annunciation and Nativity, whilst to the right of John the Baptist is Christ's baptism and his execution in prison. At the bottom of the lights are various saints and religious figures venerating the crucifixion. Angels hold a banner in the tracery. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style. Bottom of window marked 'hidden' and not executed.
