Brief description: Design for a 3 light stained glass window depicting the Benedicite and Christ risen
Proposed design for the window on the south Chantry depicting the Benedicite. In the centre light, a Risen Christ is depicted, supported by angels, and in the left light are scenes from spring and summer, including a shepherd with lambs, and angel picking flowers and children at the riverside. In the right hand light, scenes from autumn and winter are depicted including gathering the harvest, poor weather and ice-skating. Several animals are depicted throughout the window including birds, squirrels, mice, horses and a whale. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
