Brief description: Design for a 5 light stained glass window depicting Christ in Majesty
Proposed design for the window in the south side of the nave depicting Christ in Majesty in the central light, with St Peter holding a burning Cathedral below. Exeter Cathedral was damaged significantly by fire during the Blitz in May 1942. Angels are depicted in the centre left and centre right lights. In the furthest left light, a Bishop prays and two men hold statues, in the furthest right light, two men, a stone mason and a carpenter work. The tracery lights are filled with angels. This design was created by Christopher Webb (1886–1966), an English stained glass designer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was then articled to Sir Ninian Comper. During his active career from 1920 to 1964 he produced over 400 windows with a distinctive character and style.
