Brief description: St. Etheldreda cartoon by Francis Spear for the east window of SS Peter & Paul, Lynsted, Kent, depicting Christ In Glory.

A cartoon depicting St. Etheldreda - first Abbess of Ely - with a crosier held in her left hand facing sideways. There is an unusually lengthy attribution on the finished window which says 'This window was designed by Francis Spear. Painted by Joan Cleburne for Lowndes and Drury of Fulham who also cut and glazed'. Painted by Joan Cleburne of Lowndes and Drury (Fulham), where the windows were cut and coloured. Spear based the east window at Lynsted in a C15th English figurative style. At some point the image has been cropped from a larger cartoon.
