UNDERWATER SCENE

Brief description: Stained glass panel with underwater scene of fish and plant-life dotted with starfish. There are three fairly large pink fish and a shoal of small blue fish crossing from left to right.. Probably made in the 1950s by one of Moira Forsyth's assistants.

Probably made as an experimental piece in the 1950s, this underwater scene is an effective use of flashed glass and acid-etching. The small panel is plated in two layers of glass, which adds depth. It was likely made by one of Moria Forsyth's assistants at the purpose-built co-operative stained glass studio known as The Glass House, Fulham and is thought to have formed part of the door to her studio. It was removed upon the closure of the studio in the 1990s.
