KING DAVID

Brief description: Single stained glass light depicting King David designed and made by William de Morgan circa 1870. King David playing stringed instrument.

Outer borders have busts of praying angels in cream, set on yellow foliage sprigs against ruby background. Inner wide borders have yellow leaves. Central portion shows David facing 3/4 right, with crown, red nimbus, green tunic and white and gold cloak, richly patterned. He holds triangular stringed instrument. Blue diamond patterned background, floor of fleur-de-lys tiles.
