Brief description: A three light stained glass window with tracery showing the transfiguration, Moses, Calvary, Abraham and Isaac, the Ascension, Elijah, Christ in Majesty and a flying Angel. Designed by John Milner Allen and made by Lavers and Barraud,1863. All the panels have a rich blue background and floral design borders.

A three light stained glass window with tracery showing the transfiguration, Moses, Calvary, Abraham and Isaac, the Ascension, Elijah, Christ in Majesty and a flying Angel. designed by John Milner Allen and made by Lavers and Barraud,1863. Allen provided a large number of designs for Lavers and Barraud between 1861 and 1867. His work here is in a Gothic Revival style, but later he designed in the 'Aesthetic' manner of the 1870s. The earliest Methodist chapels were relatively simple buildings, often classical in style, and designed to accommodate as large a congregation as possible. The pulpit was prominently sited so that the preacher could easily be seen and heard. By the second half of the 19th century, like Anglican churches, several Methodist chapels were built in the Gothic style and some were decorated with figurative as well as decorative stained-glass windows.
