Luminous Leaves Art Workshop with Jane Fellows
1 Oct. 2022 12:30-4:30
*** FULLY BOOKED *** Please contact us for waiting list
Event category: Adult Workshop
Price: £45.00
Location: The Stained Glass Museum
In this workshop Jane will take you on a brief tour of the gallery encouraging you to notice the various patterns, leaves and flowers in the borders and canopies of the glass panels. Taking inspiration from the glass you will learn how to ink up your gel plate in various colours adding leaves, flower heads and found objects such as bubble wrap and patterned papers. Once these are placed on the plate in your chosen design, layers of printing inks can be added and the leaves can also be removed to create interesting textures of leaf veins, stalks and petals. These will be printed onto tissue paper to achieve a transparent effect. After cleaning the gel pad, a further layer of black paint can be pulled from the gel plate to achieve the final stained glass feel. There will also be an opportunity to tear up and collage your own designs.
You can choose to make your designs in to greetings cards or prints and and we’ll finish by adding a gloss sheen to really make the colours pop!
Leaves and flowers will be provided but please feel free to bring in some of your own. A flat leaf is best with an interesting shape and a veined texture. A variety of shapes and sizes will make a pleasing composition.

Artist Talk by Pinkie Maclure
12 Oct. 2022 7pm
Event category: Talk /Tour
Price: 7.50 (Friends: 6.50)
Location: Online
Pinkie Maclure is a multidisciplinary, award-winning Scottish artist, who believes that our present is haunted by our past.
Using stained glass installations, she makes intimate work that examines today’s big issues, such as addiction, insomnia and our self-destructive relationship with nature in particular. She uses the distinctively chaotic nature of stained glass to create poignant, darkly humorous vignettes full of symbolism, exploiting the tension between the sacred and the unexpected, at a time when the end of the world feels closer than ever.
