Brief description: Stained glass window depicting Christ with followers and children by Thomas Wilmshurst, 1856.

Stained glass light depicting Jesus Christ with his followers and children. Christ is shown standing in the centre holding a child in his left arm and making a sign of benediciton in his right. He is surrounded bu men and women and children listening to him. The composition is based on a painting of Christ Blessing the Children by the German 19th-century artist Friedrich Overbeck (1789-1869), a founder member of the German Romantic Brotherhood of artists called the Nazarenes. The stained glass artist Thomas Wilmshurst (1806-1880) was influenced by the tranquil, rather sombre style of Overbeck's work. This window was originally located in Ely Cathedral in St Catherine's Chapel but was removed in the 1930s during the chapel
