Art Workshop with Laura Pearson-Clark

About the Workshop
Ever feel like you want to get painting but you hit a big creative block as you stare at the blank white page?
Local art tutor and artist Laura Pearson-Clark will guide you through how to beat the block of the blank page. You’ll gain confidence in your mark-making on acrylic paper. Laura will introduce a range of techniques with different media including acrylics, gouache, graphite and acrylic pens.
The workshop includes time to explore and take inspiration from the stunning stained glass museum collection plus the famous Ely Cathedral itself. Laura will support you in building up a harmonious composition to achieve a final piece of art that reveals your own style that you can be proud of.
What to bring: the cathedral can be cold, so do bring warm clothing and an overall as acrylic paint does not wash off clothes when dry!
Cost: £75 per person including materials, equipment and tuition
Friends of the Museum receive 10% discount
Suitable for age 18+
how to book: Please contact us for further details or to book a place on this workshop.

About the Workshop
Explore our collection and learn how to create stunning patterned figures using the gelli plate printing method. Led by tutor & artist Jane Fellows, experiment with acrylic paints and golden pastel on textured stencils from which you will create beautiful patterns on tissue paper. Collaging your colourful tissue pieces with a gloss medium you will achieve a vibrant and translucent final portrait in the stained glass style.
