One day Glass Copper Foiling Workshop with Gillian & David Wing
Saturday 6th May 2017, 10.00am-17.00pm, £90
Please note Leading Workshops are held in the Old Dispensary, 13 St. Mary's Street, Ely.
The Copper foiling technique, developed in the Tiffany Studios in the1890s, is ideal for decorative panels, sun catchers and mirrors as well as lampshades and other dimensional work. Copper tape and solder are used to create a seam joining the pieces of glass.
This one day workshop to copper foiling is suitable for beginners and gives practical experience of the techniques needed to move on to projects of your own. A choice of patterns will be provided and a selection of coloured and textured glass will be available for you to make your own panel on the day. If you have a piece of glass from the glass painting workshop at the Museum that you would like to incorporate do bring it along with you.
Please note Copper Foiling Workshops are held in the Old Dispensary, 13 St. Mary's Street, Ely.
The workshop will have a maximum of ten students, allowing for ample individual as well as group tuition from both our tutors.
Cost: £90 per person including materials, equipment and tuition
(Friends of the Museum receive 10% discount)
