Monday - Saturday    10:30-5:00      (Last Admission 4:30)

Sundays                     12:00-4:30      (Last Admission 4:00)

Closed: Good Friday, 25 December, 26 December.

Please note that the Museum is located in a working Cathedral building, and occasionally has to close for special events and services. Please see the News page for closures, or phone in advance of your visit.

Joint Ticket Admission

Joint tickets for admission into both the Cathedral and Stained Glass Museum are available to purchase from the ground floor Cathedral admission desks.

Researchers: The Museum's reference library and reserve collection can be visited via prior appointment. Please contact the Curator.

Photography: Photography is not permitted in the Museum gallery because of copyright restrictions.

Location and Accessibility

Our Main Gallery is located on the upper level of the Cathedral accessed by a stone spiral staircase (40 stairs). For those unable to access the museum a touch screen virtual visit is available on the ground floor.

By Train:
Ely is under 70 minutes by rail from London, and 15-20 minutes from Cambridge.

By Car:
Ely is situated on the A10 north of Cambridge. There is a large free car park within 300 yards of the Cathedral.
