Summer at the Museums 2014

Get creative and be inspired at The Stained Glass Museum during the summer holidays! We will be running several family workshops and activities for children on Wednesday afternoons. Please book in advance if possible. All events held at The Stained Glass Museum, The South Triforium, Ely Cathedral, Ely, Cambs, CB7 4DL.

Hands-on family fun at the Stained Glass Museum

Wednesday 30 July, 2-4pm

Family drop-in! Light and reflection

Get creative - use recycled translucent and reflective materials to create an artwork inspired by stained glass and mirrors.

Ages 5+

Drop in. This is a free event

 

Wednesday 6 August, 2-4pm

Art and Alchemy: Glass Fusing Workshop I

Design and build your own glass coaster or small panel using coloured glass gems, noodles, stringers and frits. Learn how to cut glass into shapes. This workshop is run by a local artist who specialises in stained and fused glass. Advance booking necessary.

Ages 8+

£10.00 per child

Garden Lanterns

Explore how light transforms coloured glass at The Stained Glass Museum and make a colourful glass lantern to take home and illuminate your garden.

Ages 5+, Suitable for all the family

Glass and Precious Metals: Glass Fusing workshop II

Come to this Sandwich Fusing Workshop! Design and make your own piece of fused glass art inspired by the Museum’s Collection. This workshop is run by a local artist who specialises in stained and fused glass.  Advance booking necessary.

£10.00 per child

Light-catchers!

Get inspired by a world of colourful glass at the Stained Glass Museum. Create your very own translucent artwork to hang in your window.
