The Stained Glass Museum is located in Ely Cathedral. It is accessed by a stone spiral staircase (40 stairs). For those unable to access the museum a touch screen virtual visit is available on the ground floor.View a map of Ely.

By Train:
Ely is under 70 minutes by rail from London, and 15-20 minutes from Cambridge. The Stained Glass Museum is a 15 minute walk from Ely rail station. There is a taxi rank outside the station.

By Car:
Ely is situated on the A10 north of Cambridge. There is a large free car park within 300 yards of the Cathedral. Parking in Ely.

Monday - Saturday    10:30-5:00      (Last Admission 4:30)

Sundays                     12:00-4:30      (Last Admission 4:00)

Closed: Good Friday, 25 December, 26 December.

Please note that the Museum is located in a working Cathedral building, and occasionally has to close for special events and services. Please check here for temporary closures, or phone in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment.

CLOSED Sunday 3 July 2016 and Tuesday 26 July 2016 due to events taking place in the Cathedral

Joint tickets for admission into both the Cathedral and Stained Glass Museum are available to purchase from the ground floor Cathedral admission desks. For current prices see the Ely Cathedral website.

Groups of 10+ receive discounted entry to the Museum

Guided Tours for groups (maximum 15 persons in one group) are available via prior arrangement, and can greatly enhance your visit to the Museum. Please note that additional tour fees apply. Please download a booking form for more information.

Researchers: The Museum's reference library and reserve collection can be visited via prior appointment. Please contact the Curator.
